Kids Workshop at Home Depot

Home Depot Kids Workshop

All Home Depot stores offer a FREE Kids Workshop on the first Saturday of every month. The “How-To” Clinics are designed for children 5 to 12 years old.

The Kids Workshop offers useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.

The Fairfield Home Depot is located at 541 Kings Highway Cut-Off.

Enjoy Free Fun & Learn CPR

Stepping Stones MuseumOn Thursday, April 29, get into Stepping Stones Museum FREE from 5pm to 8pm. Adults will be able to review adult, child and infant CPR skills with Greenwich EMS throughout the evening.

Free Workshop for Parents

Adolescent Behavioral ConsultingOn Thursday, April 29 in Westport, Adolescent Behavioral Consulting will offer a free workshop for parents of at-risk teens and young adults. Founder Michael Harmann, MSW will serve as moderator of the group discussion and provide participating parents with the opportunity to individually address their parenting challenges of their at-risk adolescents and will guide them to find solutions to their problems.

The series of two-hour, evening workshops presented in a group discussion format, will each focus on “Parent/Child Reciprocal Relationships”. Other workshop dates and locations:

May 6 in Fairfield
May 13 in Wilton
May 20 in Weston
May 27 in Ridgefield

There is no cost for this workshop, but space is limited and you must register to attend. Adolescent Behavioral Consulting will confirm your registration and send you the location information prior to the workshop date that you enroll for. If you have any questions, please call (203) 644-6727.

Head to the Trumbull Rotary Carnival for fun rides and yummy treats! The carnival is held at  Trumbull High School (off Daniels Farm Rd.) in Trumbull.

Registration for AMBER Alert System

The Fairfield Rotary Club, in cooperation with the Fairfield Police Department, will be registering children in the AMBER Alert emergency response system on Saturday, April 24 from 10am to 4pm at The Fairfield Museum & History Center in Fairfield located at 370 Beach Road.

The goal of the AMBER Alert System, named for 9-year old Amber Hagerman, is to instantly notify the entire state, so everyone may assist in the search for the safe return of the child. The public immediately becomes the ears and eyes of law enforcement and can assist in the search for the missing child.

Junior Women’s Club Monthly Meeting

The Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Osborn Hill School Library, 760 Stillson Road. The club will discuss its upcoming Women’s Business Bazaar, scheduled for Thursday, April 22 at the Burr Homestead, as well as its scholarship program for young women.
