Tomato & Basil just opened June 1. It is one of several new restaurants that recently opened or will open soon in Fairfield. But Tomato & Basil stands out from the pack. Why? Because what they say on their website is true!
Tomato & Basil was formed “with a simple idea in mind; to create a place with a fun and casual atmosphere where people can come for amazing Italian food. It is our goal to create a place that has the ability to cater to a wide variety of customers; couples enjoying a first date, families looking for a full and filling meal, happy hour specials savored by co-workers, or pizza and pitchers shared by friends.”
We were there last week for dinner and enjoyed the cozy ambiance, delicious meal (Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus, Scallops Saltimbocca and Farfalle with Gorgonzola Sauce) and refreshing red sangria, their signature drink according to the manager. Our fellow diners were a mix of families, couples and friends, and everyone seemed right at home.
We will definitely be going back throughout the summer and will be interested to see what they have cooking for fall. A Tomato & Basil birdie told us that’s when there will be fun events for kids. Stay tuned…
